KLCA Players at the 16th Bangkok Open 2016

3 KLCA players will be participating in the 16th edition of the Bangkok Open.
In the Open category, KLCA will be represented by its Deputy President i.e. Dr. Zaidan Zulkipli and 2016 NAG U16 Champion CM Ng Jen Sheng. Joshua Lee Shan Chen will be taking part in the Challengers event.

KLCA Wishes Zaidan, Jen Sheng and Joshua  "All the Very Best " for the 16th Bangkok Open.

Those who have submitted to KLCA their interest to play in NAG 2016 are advised to submit the registration form and furnish the Proof of payment to both MCF and KLCA.

Please be informed that the NATIONAL AGE-GROUP CHESS CHAMPIONSHIPS 2016 (NAG2016) will be held on 12 – 14 MARCH 2016 at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Tronoh, Perak.

Invitation to Participate in MALAYSIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS 2016 (NCC 2016).

The National Closed will be held from Wednesday, 16th March to Sunday, 20th March 2016 at the Dewan University College Sabah Foundation, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

On 25th January 2016, The Kuala Lumpur Chess Association(KLCA) received an invitation via email from the Malaysian Chess Federation (MCF) to send players to compete in the event.

KL players who fulfill the criteria set by both MCF and KLCA in 2015, and able to play in the Malaysian Championships 2016 are invited to submit your name to KLCA for consideration.
Please send an email to both:-

(2) Amirul HM (Honorary Secretary) at amirulKLCA@gmail.com
latest by 5.00 PM on Monday, 15th February 2016.

The Committee will deliberate after Chinese New Year and an announcement will be made here as to who would be the official representatives for KL.

Please be informed that only members of KLCA can be chosen to represent the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur.

1. QUALIFICATION CRITERIA for OFFICIAL KL PLAYER (set by KLCA).
MEN        - Minimum FIDE elo of 1825 or, NR of 1775.
WOMEN  - Minimum FIDE elo of 1550 or NR of 1500.


2. QUALIFICATION CRITERIA for ADDITIONAL KL PLAYER (set by MCF).
MEN        - Minimum FIDE elo of 1800 or, NR of 1650.
WOMEN - Minimum FIDE elo of 1550 or NR of 1400.


3. QUALIFICATION CRITERIA for WILDCARD ENTRY (set by KLCA).
MEN        - Minimum FIDE elo of 1650 or, NR of 1500.
WOMEN - Minimum FIDE elo of 1450 or NR of 1300.
