MCC 2022 - Invitation to Qualified KL Players

MALAYSIAN CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP 2022
( MCC 2022 )

(1) The MCC 2022 will be held as follows:-
      Date:    8th - 12th JUNE 2022
      Venue: Hotel Tenera, Bandar Baru Bangi, SELANGOR

(2) KLCA would like to invite Qualified KL players to represent F.T. of Kuala Lumpur in the upcoming event.

(3) Interested applicants fulfilling the requirements set by MCF are encouraged to write-in to KLCA for
     consideration to be Kuala Lumpur's official representative.

(4)  Kindly write-in with your respective details to KLCA, Attention of KLCA Secretary at the following:-

Details of MCC 2022, as follows:-

(1) For the 2022 edition, MCF will be offering additional prizes in terms of both amount and categories for the eventual winners, and of course, the National Champions for both the Open and Women sections will be offered an automatic place in the Open and Women Teams to the 44th FIDE Chess Olympiad 2022 which will be held in Chennai, India from 27th July until 10th August 2022.

(2) The additional prizes offered are Best Junior U18, Best Junior U12 and Best OKU – all subject to the Terms & Conditions of the Championship.

 

(3)The entry fees for the state representative have been divided into two groups – those with MCF ID and those without MCF ID, which is as follows:

                                        With MCF ID             Open   RM 120                   Ladies RM 100

                                        Without MCF ID        Open   RM 150                   Ladies RM 125

 

(4) Each State is allowed to nominate no more than FOUR (4) players for the Open Section and TWO (2) players for the Women Section. As this is a FIDE Rated event, all players must have a FIDE ID in order to participate in this National Level event.

 

(5) We are also introducing additional requirements that all the players playing must have a minimum FIDE Rating of 1600 (for the Open Section) and 1400 (for the Women Section). However, each state is allowed to field no more than one(1) player who falls below the minimum rating requirement provided that the inclusion of the player is well justified by the State i.e. a promising junior, a state champion, etc. NO UNRATED PLAYERS are allowed to be nominated or accepted in this year’s event as a way for us to maintain the standard of the event.

 

(6) Nominations by the State must be submitted using the attached form and endorsed by the State Association – signed by the Secretary and/or President of the State Chess Association. All payments to be made to the PERSEKUTUAN CATUR MALAYSIA CIMB account 8000649725 and the proof of payment needs to be attached for the submission to the accepted. Closing date is 29th May 2022 and entries received after this date will only be accepted at the discretion of the Federation and with a penalty of RM 100 per entry received. No entries will be accepted nor entertained after 4th June 2022.
